Hummingbird nectar is a popular food source for hummingbirds, made from a simple mixture of sugar and water. While there are many recipes available, the most common and widely recommended ratio is 1 part sugar to 4 parts water. To make the nectar, simply dissolve the sugar in the water and bring to a boil. Once the sugar is dissolved, remove from heat and allow to cool before filling your hummingbird feeders.
In addition to the basic nectar recipe, there are a few other things you can do to attract hummingbirds to your feeders. First, choose a feeder that is red, as this color is attractive to hummingbirds. Second, place the feeder in a sunny location with plenty of flowers nearby. And finally, keep the feeder clean by changing the nectar every few days.
